The article examines the psychological determinants of developing leadership potential and emotional intelligence among future educational psychologists and psychologists during their professional training at higher education institutions. The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between students’ leadership potential and emotional intelligence during professional training and to provide a theoretical and empirical justification of the psychological factors contributing to their development. The theoretical section analyzes the concepts of “leadership” and “leadership potential” and highlights their role in the professional development of future specialists. The empirical study employed the “Leadership Abilities Diagnostics” methodology by E. Zharikov and E. Krushelnitsky, N. Hall’s Emotional Intelligence Test, and L. V. Mishchenko’s Academic Activity Satisfaction Questionnaire. The findings revealed a positive relationship between students’ satisfaction with academic activity and the development of their leadership potential. In addition, leadership potential was identified as an important psychological factor contributing to the formation and development of emotional intelligence. The results obtained confirm the importance of integrating leadership and emotional intelligence development programs into the educational process of higher education institutions.
