The article analyzes scientific research focused on communication skills and explores the psychological conditions for the development of communication skills in adolescents aged 13–14. The study involved 46 students (20 boys, 26 girls), divided into an experimental group (22 adolescents with low communication skills) and a control group (24 students). The following methods were used in the study: - L. Michelson’s Communication Competence Test (adapted by Yu.Z. Gilbukh); - V.V. Boyko’s diagnostic method (communicative tolerance); - A.A. Karelin’s methodology for assessing communication skills. Statistical processing was performed using SPSS 23 software, employing descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon T-test, and Spearman correlation.
In the experimental group, aggressive and dependent reactions were more frequent, while the control group demonstrated more competent communication. The experimental group showed a low level of acceptance of others, with communicative resilience at medium and low levels. After the training, the communication skills of adolescents in the experimental group improved significantly. The study confirmed the importance of psychological conditions in enhancing adolescents' communicative competence. The findings can serve as a basis for developing specialized programs aimed at the socio-psychological development of adolescents.
