The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that shape the psychological readiness of high school students studying at a private lyceum and a public school gymnasium to choose a profession. This topic discusses situations that affect the preparation process. In addition, the identification of the situation in which high school students receive help from psychological counselors at school, the field they choose, their privileged status and the factors influencing their choice of profession. In the 2024-20125 academic year, 80 (45 girls and 35 boys) high school students continuing their studies at the private physics and mathematics lyceum Algarithm and 89 (57 girls and 32 boys) high school students studying at Gymnasium No.185 participated in the control group of the Alatau district of Almaty. To identify the factors influencing the choice of profession by students, the questionnaire "factors influencing the choice of profession" was used. To identify the factors influencing the choice of profession by students, the questionnaire "factors influencing the choice of profession" was used. In addition, the questionnaire of E. A. Klimov "DDS" (translated into Kazakh) and the test questionnaire of S. S. Grynshpun "motives for choosing a profession" were jointly conducted. When evaluating the results of the study, it can be seen that about half of the students receive professional help in the process of choosing a profession and clarify their preferences. However, the results of the study show that private schools are the main factors influencing the choice of profession by lyceum students. According to other findings of the study, the variables that are most effective in the process of choosing a profession by students are matching the profession to the student's dream, enjoying the profession-related activities, matching the profession to the student's personal qualities, and whether the profession is suitable for career growth. In accordance with these results, various recommendations have been made in the relevant literature.
