This article presents an analysis of the psychological aspects of addictive behavior among young people. Therelevance of the presented research is emphasized by the need for in-depth scientific study of the mechanisms andfactors that cause the widespread use of various forms of addictive behavior among young people. Addictivebehavior is interpreted as a type of maladaptive behavioral reactions that occur in response to internal tension,emotional instability and inadequacy. The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between the level ofneuroticism and the likelihood of addictive behavior among young people. The main diagnostic tool was the method of determining the level of neuroticism developed by L.I.Wasserman. The study involved students of 3-4 courses, whose age range was 20-22 years. The total number of respondents who provided answers for the analysis was 82 people.The article presents the results of a mathematical and statistical analysis of the data obtained. The Student's t-testwas used for statistical information processing. The results are presented in the format of tables and diagrams. Thesystematization of
theoretical and empirical data has been carried out, and appropriate conclusions have been drawn.
