Abstract

In the era we live in nowadays social media platforms hold importance serving as a vital information resource and a channel, for communication that is deeply interwoven into our everyday routines and interactions with others. An essential aspect of our individuality revolves around the way we showcase ourselves to the public and assess our character traits and quirks. The continuous stream of updates and content on media has an influence, on our emotional well-being particularly as we shape and define our own identities. This research investigated the impact of alterations, in images posted on media platforms on women’s self-perception. Its findings could be a starting point for studies in the realm of self-image among those who frequently edit photos and might also provide insights for psychologists working with individuals reliant upon filters and modifications to their looks, for behavior modification and therapeutic interventions.
