In recent years, the police profession has undergone significant changes. In addition to professional responsibilities, the requirements for personal safety, work schedule density and control by citizens have increased. The requirements for the professional and personal qualities of employees have also increased. Police officers may experience psychological stress due to the negative factors they encounter during their service, which often leads to emotional burnout.
In these conditions, the main purpose of the psychological work of the internal affairs bodies is to maintain the psychological stability of police officers, ensure their safety and provide psychological support.
In our article, we set the task to identify the presence of emotional burnout among police officers, as well as to investigate the causes and factors of its occurrence and consider measures of psychological support.
The following methods were used for the study: K. Maslakh's method of determining the level of exhaustion, aimed at assessing the mental qualities of a person, and V. V. Boyko's method for determining the phases of emotional burnout. Maslakh's methodology includes three scales: "emotional exhaustion", "depersonalization" and "reduction of personal achievements". The V. V. Boyko method consists of 84 questions grouped on 12 scales, which cover three stages of emotional exhaustion: "tolerance", "resistance" and "exhaustion".
To analyze the results of the study, Pearson's correlation analysis was used to identify the relationships between social indicators and methodological scales using the SPSS Statistics 26 program.
The value of our research lies in the identified signs of emotional exhaustion, which indicate the need to organize measures to improve the psychological climate and constant psychological support in the team. These measures contribute to the positive development of personal qualities of employees and can become the basis for further in-depth research.
