This article examines the psychological foundations of the development of emotional intelligence (EI) in modern youth. Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions and the feelings of people around them. Nowadays, emotional intelligence plays an important role in the personal development and adaptation of young people to society.
The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the concept of emotional intelligence, its structure and components (self-knowledge, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, social skills). In addition, it characterizes the development of age-related emotional intelligence of young people, socio-psychological factors influencing it.
The article examines the influence of family education, the learning environment, communication with peers, and the media on the development of emotional intelligence. It is shown that young people with high emotional intelligence have greater adaptability to life, the ability to resolve conflicts, and high psychological stability.
The results of the study confirm the importance of special psychological programs and trainings for the development of emotional intelligence of young people. This work is relevant in the future from the point of view of training specialists, improving the education and upbringing system.
