In modern times, the education system is not limited to academic education, but also sets itself the task of ensuring the personal development and psychological stability of the student. At the same time, psychological support of students in the educational process is relevant as one of the main directions of school teachers and psychologists. Psychological support is a purposeful and systematic activity that contributes to the socio-psychological adaptation of students, self-knowledge, the effective use of their capabilities and overcoming the difficulties encountered in personal development. Research shows that systematically organized psychological support in educational institutions has a positive effect on increasing learning motivation, increasing students ' self-confidence, and developing communication skills.
This article discusses the content of the concept of psychological support, its place in the educational process, types and ways of organization. In addition, the features of providing psychological support to students depending on their age, the effective forms of interaction between the school psychologist and the teacher are described. In the course of the article, the results of empirical research conducted in general education schools are presented and the practical importance of psychological support is proved.
