Review rules

All scientific articles submitted to the editors of «Bulletin of KazNPU. Abaya. Series " Psychology»  undergo mandatory anonymous (“blind”) review (the authors of the received manuscript do not know the reviewers and receive a letter with comments signed by the editor-in-chief).

  1. Reviewing of articles is carried out by independent experts – scientists or specialists in the relevant field of the subject of the received manuscript, not members of the editorial board.
  2. The decision to choose one or another reviewer for the examination of the article is made by the editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief, scientific editor. The maximum review period is 3 weeks.
  3. Each article submitted to the editor is sent to 2 independent reviewers1.
  4. Each reviewer has the right to refuse a review if there is a clear conflict of interest affecting the perception and interpretation of manuscript materials. Based on the results of the manuscript review, the reviewer makes recommendations about the article (each decision of the reviewer should be justified):
    • the article is recommended for publication in its current form;
    • the article is recommended for publication after the correction of the deficiencies noted by the reviewer;
    • the article needs additional review by another specialist;
    • The article cannot be published in the journal.
  1. If a review has recommendations for correction and revision of an article,  the secretary of the editorial office sends the text of the review to the author requesting him/her to take the recommendations into consideration when preparing a new variant of the article or dispose them reasonably (wholly or partially). Finalization of the article should not take more than two months from the moment of sending an electronic message to the authors about the need to make changes. An article revised by the author is to be reviewed again.
  2. If the authors refuse to finalize the materials, they must notify the editors in writing of their refusal to publish the article. If the authors do not return the revised version after 1 month from the day the review was sent, even if there is no information from the authors with a refusal to finalize the article, the editors remove it from the register without notifying the author.
  3. If the author and reviewers have encountered insoluble contradictions regarding the manuscript, the editorial board has the right to send the manuscript for additional review. In conflict situations, the decision is made by the editor-in- chief at a meeting of the editorial board.
  4. The decision to refuse to publish the manuscript is made at a meeting of the editorial board in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers. An article not recommended for publication by the decision of the editorial board is not accepted for re-consideration. A refusal to publish is sent to the author by e- mail.
  5. When the editorial board makes the decision on publishing an article, the secretary informs the author about it and specifies the date of issue.
  6. The positive review is insufficient for an article to be published. The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board. In conflict situations, the decision is made by the editor-in-chief.
  7. Original copies of reviews are kept in editorial office for 3 years.
