The article is devoted to the current problem of teenagers' dependence on Internet games. The article fully covers all theoretical material related to the research topic, broadly discloses and analyzes psychological aspects. The authors examined in detail the negative impact of information technologies, including the Internet, in accordance with the psychological characteristics of adolescents, emphasizing the huge opportunities for the modern information society. Due to the fact that the problem of Internet addiction is becoming relatively early relevant abroad, the research paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the works of foreign scientists who have studied it to date. In the course of experimental research, methods of verbal diagnostics were selected: E. A. Shchepilin's questionnaire "perception of the Internet"; R. Kettel's 16-factor personality questionnaire; Dembo-Rubinstein's method "self-esteem"; the test "attitude to oneself" V. Stolina and S. Pantileeva.
