Abstract

Tolerance to ambiguity is becoming one of the popular disciplines for the study in various fields of research. A number of studies are devoted to determine the relationship between tolerance to ambiguity and stress resistance.  Despite the fact that this problem is not new to foreign psychological science, it is currently becoming increasingly relevant. The analysis of modern studies of tolerance to ambiguity indicates its relationship with stress resistance. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the relationship between the tolerance of the subject to uncertainty and stress resistance, as well as the differences of these variables by gender, age. To determine the relationship between tolerance to ambiguity and stress resistance and differences in gender and age, the following methods were used: "The scale of tolerance to sources of stress" by V. V. Raspopin, "The scale of tolerance and intolerance" by S. Badner, "The scale of tolerance to ambiguity" by Maclean. The conducted research work allows us to draw a general conclusion that the tolerance to ambiguity and stress tolerance of respondents do not have statistically significant differences in relation to gender, but they have differences in the stress assessment of their own personality by age.
