Mediation is a conflict resolution process regulated by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Mediation". Conflicts are supposed to be the settlement of interpersonal conflict and, in rare cases, intergroup conflict. The authors consider the conflict as a psychological problem. And since assistance in conflict resolution is provided only within the framework of interpersonal conflict, as the practice of mediators shows, after signing a mediation agreement, the parties in most cases remain dissatisfied with the settlement process.
The use of knowledge in the mediation process at the initial, preparatory stage about intrapersonal conflicts will allow mediators to reveal the deep essence of the conflict and manage the settlement process more successfully, rather than "forcing" the parties to sign a mediation agreement.

The practical study of the results of the work involves the application of knowledge about intrapersonal conflicts and the use of psychological tools by mediators in the process of conflict resolution.
