Stress tolerance as one of the factors of effective employee performance: research review
The stress resistance of the individual plays a leading role in the fight against stress and not only the mental health of a person, but also his professional activity depends on the degree of its development. The relevance of the study of stress resistance is related both to the modern human rhythm and to the situation of prolonged lockdown and strict quarantine measures, which have put an increased demand on the stress resistance of each person. The purpose of this review article is to actualize the problem of stress tolerance within the framework of management psychology and to study stress tolerance as a factor of performance among employees of the organization. The publication discusses the main approaches to the problem of stress tolerance, analyzes synonymous terms, their similarities and differences. To resolve the contradictions, the authors turn to the theory of integral individuality by V.S.Merlin (2017) and consider stress resistance as a complex integral formation that manifests itself at different levels: as an element of the system of individual properties of the organism; as an element of the system of individual mental properties of the organism and as an element of the system of socio-psychological individual properties. When analyzing stress resistance, it is also important to consider it in isolation from the situation that generates stress and take into account that the ability to withstand difficulties is formed in the course of life and is interconnected with a person's personal history, his experience of resolving similar stressful situations, with the choice of coping methods. The analysis provides a synthesis of knowledge on the problem of stress tolerance within the framework of personnel management psychology. Of particular interest is the phenomenon of stress resistance and its impact on the effectiveness of the organization's employees in connection with the situation of lockdown and subsequent strict restrictions and rules of employment.
