This article gives a psychological characteristic of thinking, including creative thinking, and pays special attention to the importance of creative thinking in the life of a person and society. The researcher relies on the views of famous personalities, philosophers, and considers the advantages and opportunities of creative thinking. The interpretation and explanation of productive thinking is given, which leads to creativity, creative thinking, and analytical work is carried out. Factors that influence creative thinking, optimal methods and methods of decision-making are presented. Justifying the given theoretical data, experimental work was carried out with high school students, the results of experimental work are presented in the form of tables and diagrams. Also, the ways and methods of developing creative thinking are considered, the method of morphological analysis by F. Kunze and the method of free writing or Freeriting are described.
