This article examines typical levels of motivation for motherhood among pregnant women and types of motivation depending on their age. The research aim is to determine the psychological role of motivation for motherhood in pregnant women.
Levels and indicators of reproductive types of maternal motivation—constructive, destructive, and external motivation—were compared, and statistical analysis was conducted. The results showed that reproductive types of motivation for motherhood do not significantly depend on the age of the pregnant women. For statistical analysis, descriptive analysis was performed using SPSS software, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was applied for one-way analysis of variance. The study utilized the "Reproductive Motives" questionnaire developed by researchers I.S. Morozova, K.N. Beloga, et al., aimed at identifying the true intentions of pregnant women regarding having children. The findings provide a better understanding of the true intentions of pregnant women and their reproductive motivation, facilitating their application in medical and psychological practice. The study also analyzes the conclusions of scholars seeking to ensure the harmonious development of the child through motherhood (Yu.I. Shmurak, R.D. Sanzhayeva, O.N. Chuchalova, G.G. Filippova, et al.).
