The article examines the issue of developing research skills among psychology students in the context of higher education. The relevance of the study is explained by the growing demand for professionals capable of not only acquiring theoretical knowledge but also applying research methods to address professional challenges. A theoretical review of national and international studies clarified the concept of research competence and identified the main approaches to its development. Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of research activities into the educational process and the application of innovative pedagogical technologies. The experimental study tested an author-designed program that incorporated project-based tasks, elements of problem-based learning, and the use of digital resources. The findings demonstrated positive dynamics in the development of students’ research skills, such as problem formulation, method selection, data analysis, and drawing scientific conclusions. The scientific novelty lies in the refinement of the theoretical foundations of research skills formation and in the identification of pedagogical conditions that ensure their effective development. The practical significance is determined by the potential integration of the proposed program into university curricula aimed at improving the quality of training future educational psychologists.
