The problem of the study is the need for a comprehensive analysis of the psychological status of patients with alcohol dependence and its changes at different stages of the disease. The aim of the work is to identify the key characteristics of the mental state of patients and their relationship with the progression of addiction, which will improve the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. The methodological basis of the research includes a review and analysis of modern scientific sources on the psychological aspects of alcoholism. Changes in emotional state, cognitive functions and behavior at various stages of the disease are considered, as well as their impact on the success of rehabilitation. The results of the study showed that with the transition to later stages of alcohol dependence, there is an increasing degradation of cognitive abilities, increased emotional lability, decreased self-control and social adaptation. The identified features emphasize the need for an individualized approach to therapy and psychological correction of patients, depending on the stage of the disease. The findings can be used in clinical practice to develop effective rehabilitation strategies aimed at reducing the risk of relapses and improving social adaptation of patients.
