Abstract

The article presents the results of a study on the psycho-emotional states of students during the examination period. A literature review within the framework of the problem of students' psychological health has shown that experienced stress and anxiety during exams can serve as predictors of the development of depressive states. The empirical study was conducted using a set of diagnostic methods, including the "Mood and Feelings Questionnaire" (SMFQ) by A. Angold and E. Costello, as well as the "Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale" (DASS-21), developed by S. Lovibond and P. Lovibond and adapted by I.M. Fattakhov and E.A. Gorobets, on a sample of first- and third-year students. The study employed the statistical Student's t-test to compare the mean values of two independent groups. The students' mental state during the examination period was assessed, allowing for the planning of preventive measures. The obtained results revealed significant differences in the manifestation of stress and anxiety and established the influence of the examination session situation on their levels.
