In this article, a theoretical analysis of the characteristics of the family was considered, the structure,
functions, and also the dynamics of the family were studied. The reasons and family factors suggested by
various authors were considered. The stages of the dissolution of marital relations are described, which are
emotional, physical divorce, trial divorce and the last stage is legal divorce. The strategies of behavior in
situations of divorce were also studied. The consequences of divorce were considered, both for the former
spouses and for children, if any, in the family. The factor of domestic violence was especially highlighted,
since recently there has been a very good tendency of an increase in divorce for this reason.
