Abstract
Indeed, one of the conditions for successful work in the modern competitive world is the right choice of profession. At this stage, carrying out career guidance work for schoolchildren from the moment they enter the senior class is a measure related to orientation towards their future. Hence, this article focuses on high school students' career selection.The main purpose of the article is to report on best practices in ensuring the correct orientation of high school students, identifying factors influencing their choice of profession. Career counseling in schools is viewed not solely as a ceremony tied to students' graduation, but as an integral component of the comprehensive educational framework. Broadly, it intertwines with the process of nurturing well-rounded individuals, equipping students for both work and life, and unfolds throughout their school journey. The article delves into professional orientation, examining its core components and the psychological determinants shaping an individual's overall direction.
The article describes and explains the proposals of the Kazakh intelligentsia on choosing a profession from the point of view of their pedagogical, psychological and social significance. The conclusions of today's scientists are also analyzed. To ensure the viability and application of their views and suggestions, diagnostic work is determined by conducting surveys and answering questions. The results are displayed using a special chart and a conclusion is drawn. At the end of the article, a guide is compiled for choosing a profession for high school students, indicating specific recommendations.
