Abstract

This scientific article discusses the organization of methodological work on the formation of ideas about
the environment in children with intellectual disabilities of school age.. The shortcomings of children with
intellectual disabilities are well known. Improving the quality of such manifestations is one of the
prerequisites for successful socialization. When preparing students to perform practical work, it is necessary
to take into account the level of formation of skills in General educational activities and the requirements
for the use of instructions in a special correctional school. In the works of defectologists who study the
features of cognitive activity of oligophrenic children, there are significant potential opportunities for the
development of cognitive processes in children with intellectual disabilities and the determining factor for
achieving this goal is a specially organized system of their training. In special pedagogy, the question of
the need for widespread use of helpless work of students to improve the quality of knowledge, skills, and
preparation of mentally retarded students for adult life and work is relevant. For mentally retarded students,
a properly organized individual educational activity is of particular importance for the corrective and
developmental impact and improvement of their individual qualities.
Independent performance of various tasks by students helps to successfully implement the educational
and correctional capabilities of the subject.
