In this article, based on the study and analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, the features of memory development in school-age children with mental retardation are revealed. Mnemonics is described as a means of developing memory in older children with mental retardation, diagnostics of memory development in school-age children with mental retardation is carried out, data on the analysis of the results of memory development in school-age children with mental retardation are given, that with the help of mnemonics it is possible to develop memory in children with mental retardation.
