Particular attention is paid to the study of competence in the professional training of pedagogical specialists. In practice, the concept of "competence" has become firmly established in scientific use. Innovative processes taking place in the education system to a certain extent are associated with the introduction of a competency-based approach into the practice of higher educational institutions.

In this regard, we can say that the category “professional competence of a teacher” has become the latest scientific development that has significantly enriched the modern educational space. Today, the professional competence of teachers is a measure of the quality of training in higher educational institutions.
