The article provides an overview of the study of adaptation problems, theoretical approaches and practical research. Adaptation of the individual is considered in relation to socialization and adaptation of the individual in society. The content, characteristics, and features of the adaptation process are also described.

The methodological foundations and research tools are presented, and a model of the process of psychological and pedagogical adaptation of repatriated students in higher education is developed.
