This article reviews the experience of countries around the world in the use of psychophysiological examination (hereinafter referred to as PBI) with the use of polygraph. In particular, it analyzes and summarizes a brief history of PFI development in different countries, modern experience in the use of polygraph with an indication of the areas of use and best practices of countries, etc.
The methodology of the article is based on the concentration of information obtained as a result of selection, analysis, systematization and logical generalization of scientific literature; analytical and synthetic comprehension of theoretical materials and data, which comprehensively characterize the existing level of the actual state of the problem, its analysis and evaluation, as well as identification of main trends, directions and prospects of the PFI method with a polygraph.
The article also presents the results of studies of polygraph possibilities in the diagnosis and early prevention of destructive tendencies in the behavior of young people, proves that the international experience of polygraph application is mainly in the fight against crime. On the basis of the review was concluded that the legislation of most countries has a critical approach to the use of results of psychophysiological studies conducted with the help of polygraph, because the use of the device has a probabilistic nature, and the results of the study are based on the subjective assessment of a polygraph examiner.
