The article contains the results of a study of the structure of ethnic identity of students in a multi-ethnic environment. The results of a theoretical analysis of the problem of the relationship of value orientations and ethnic prejudices of personality are presented. An empirical cross-cultural study revealed the specifics of the value orientations of Russian and Kazakh ethnic groups through an analysis of the linguistic competence of representatives of ethnic groups; ethnic self-identification; ideas about ethno-integrating and ethno-differentiating characters, etc. At the second stage of the experiment, the manifestation of ethnic prejudices was studied in conjunction with the revealed specificity of the cultural-value structure of the personality of the ethnic groups under study.
