Abstract

This article discusses emotional burnout and its characteristics as an actual psychological problem for young professionals of the XXI century. This is due to the fact that a huge number of professions are subject to mental stress. Emotional burnout syndrome (EBS) is a special human condition that occurs as a result of prolonged exposure to stress, manifested by increasing emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion. The most vulnerable to emotional burnout are employees whose professions are associated with interpersonal interaction, a high level of empathy and responsibility: teachers, medical professionals, psychologists, employees of the criminal Executive system, etc.
