The article discusses the ways of formation social and communicative skills in children with intellectual disabilities, taking into account the peculiarities of the formation of their cognitive activity. Taking into account the personal needs of the child is one of the important conditions in the development of children's communicative skills. The lack of formation of communication skills is largely due to the peculiarity of the development of their cognitive activity, as well as their lack of social and communicative motivation. The formation and development of communication skills will help children express requests, emotions, ask questions in order to get an answer, as well as the development of dialogue, social behavior in society, social adaptation.
