The article analyzes the concepts of a number of foreign and Russian scientists about the factors influencing the formation of an individual's ethnic culture, the main types of ethnocultural orientations and attitudes. It is noted that the ethno-cultural orientation of the child is formed as a result of ethnic feelings, through inner experiences, feelings of belonging to a specific geographical location, gradually manifesting itself in the course of mastering ethnic traditions.
The author suggests a certain conclusion: in order for children of 6-7 years old to give a positive assessment of their ethnic culture and be oriented towards it, it is necessary to be aware, understand and accept the cultural norms and rules of behavior, value orientations, spiritual and material traditions of their ethnic group with their own "I" status. In addition, the author introduces the theoretical justifications and descriptions of the original author's methods developed in the course of an experimental study to diagnose the levels of ethno-cultural orientation of Kazakh children of this age.
