Due to the global trend of population ageing, the relevance of maintaining the quality of life and health of the population of elderly people is increasing. This article describes a study aimed at adapting and standardising the Mannheimer Intervar der lebensverhältnisse im Alter (Mannheimer questionnaire of quality of life in elderly age) for the Russian-speaking population of Kazakhstan citizens. Having studied the experience of assessing the quality of life of elderly people in Germany, we proposed a Russian adapted version of this questionnaire, which we called MOCJ-Ger (Mannheim questionnaire of quality of life for use in geriatric practice). The questionnaire is aimed at studying various parameters of the quality of life of elderly people: activity, communication, living conditions and finances. We have tested the psychometric properties of the adapted version of the questionnaire, as well as the possibility of its use in geriatric practice in Kazakhstan.
The questionnaire can be used by psychologists, social workers and other personnel when working with older people to identify the difficulties and needs of an older person.
